Towards Connectivity for Codimension 2 Cycles: Infinitesimal Deformations

چکیده
Let X be a smooth projective variety over an algebraically closed field k ⊂ C of characteristic zero, and Y ⊂ X a smooth complete intersection. The Weak Lefschetz theorem states that the natural restriction map H(X(C), Q) → H(Y (C), Q) on singular cohomology is an isomorphism for all i < dim(Y ). The Bloch-Beilinson conjectures on the existence of certain filtrations on Chow groups combined with standard conjectures in the theory of motives imply that a similar result should be true for Chow groups, and, more generally, for motivic cohomology. In this note, we prove a consequence of the Motivic Weak Lefschetz conjecture (see Conjecture 1.2) for codimension 2 cycles.

Defect and evaluations
Let S be a generic submanifold of CN of real codimension m. In this work we continue the study, carried over by various authors, of the set of analytic discs attached to S. Moreover we look at the subspaces of CN obtained by evaluating at 0 and at 1, holomorphic maps which are the infinitesimal deformations of analytic discs attached to S.

For the Lie algebras L\(H(2)) and L\(W(2)), we study their infinitesimal deformations and the corresponding global ones. We show that, as in the case of L\{W(\)), each integrable infinitesimal deformation of L\(H(2)) and L1(W/(2)) can be represented by a 2-cocycle that defines a global deformation by means of a trivial extension. We also illustrate that all deformations of L\{H{2)) arise as res...
متن کاملDeformations of Codimension 2 Toric Varieties
We prove Sturmfels’ conjecture that toric varieties of codimension two have no other flat deformations than those obtained by Gröbner basis theory.

In the space of C piecewise expanding unimodal maps, k ≥ 2, we characterize the C smooth families of maps where the topological dynamics does not change (the “smooth deformations”) as the families tangent to a continuous distribution of codimension-one subspaces (the “horizontal” directions) in that space. Furthermore such codimension-one subspaces are defined as the kernels of an explicit clas...
متن کاملDeformations of Simple Finite Group Schemes
Simple finite group schemes over an algebraically closed field of positive characteristic p 6= 2, 3 have been classified. We consider the problem of determining their infinitesimal deformations. In particular, we compute the infinitesimal deformations of the simple finite group schemes of height one corresponding to the restricted simple Lie algebras.
